Who was Xanax Kernodle?

Xana Kernodle, a native of Avondale, Arizona, who was twenty years old, was a junior marketing major and Pi Beta Phi sorority sister.

Before they started dating, Ethan Chapin and Kernodle were friends, according to Chapin’s mother. Kernodle was spending time with the entire Chapin family by this summer.

In the picturesque city of Post Falls in northern Idaho, Kernodle attended high school. She embellished her mortarboard with cutouts of flowers and butterflies and the phrase “For The Lives That I Will Change” for her 2020 graduation.

Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves, both 21 years old, were friends and housemates of Kernodle.

Xanax Kernodle death

On the evening of November 12, Kernodle and Chapin had attended a Sigma Chi fraternity party on the University of Idaho campus from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Around 1.45 am on November 13, the young couple returned to the King Road residence that Kernodle, Mogen, and Goncalves shared with two other female students.

The four victims were all fatally stabbed at around three or four in the morning, and their bodies were left undetected for a number of hours.

Even now, three weeks after the killings, there is still almost a five-hour delay between when Kernodle and Chapin were last seen at the fraternity house party and when they returned to the residence where they were attacked.

Kernodle was loved by many and was one of a kind, her sister said.

“You rarely get to meet someone like Xana,” Jazzmin Kernodle said. “She was so positive, funny and was loved by everyone who met her. She was so lighthearted, and always lifted up a room.”

Kernodle’s family is “at a loss for words” as to what happened, she said.

“Our hearts go out to Kaylee, Maddie and Ethan and all their families as well,” Kernodle said. “They were all amazing people and were loved so much. My sister was so lucky to have them in her life.”

Jazzmin reminded people to tell their loved ones how much they mean to you. She wishes she could have had one more hug with her little sister.

Xana Kernodle was a junior studying marketing and was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, the university said.
