Raquel Pedraza is Half-Mexican and Half-American

Raquel Pedraza is currently 25 years old. She was born on January 28, 1998, in Fountain Valley, California, United States. Her birth sign is Aquarius, and she is an American citizen by birth.

However, that is not the extent of Raquel’s national identity, and referring to her as just an American citizen will not be fair to the Mexican heritage she has access to through her father. We have also verified the fact that Raquel’s mother is a White American citizen who was born and raised in New York.

It further lends credence to the fact that her ethnicity is mixed. Beyond the aforementioned, not much is known about Raquel’s parents, including their names, although a few unverified sources have indicated that they also used to be Tennis players.

Aside from her parents, Raquel’s only other birth family member is an older brother with whom she has a very close relationship. Details of Raquel’s formal educational background are limited to the fact she attended a private Christian high school before withdrawing to be homeschooled.

That choice was influenced by a desire to make her academic schedule flexible enough to align with her desire to pursue tennis as a profession seriously. It was also a choice her parents agreed to, and did all they could to support their little girl.

She Was 18 Years Old When She Married Taylor Fritz

We have established the fact that much of Raquel Pedraza’s public profile is linked to the fact that she used to be married to American professional Tennis player Taylor Fritz. What is not immediately apparent with regard to that aspect of her life is that she was still relatively a teenager when she exchanged marital vows with Fritz.

Just to be clear on the subject, Raquel Pedraza was only 18 years old when she married Taylor Fritz. We have yet to verify the details of the early years of their time together before becoming a married couple, including how, when, and where they met. Although, a bold guess would be to assume that they met at a sporting event, given the fact that they are both athletes.

After a few months of dating, Fritz decided to take their relationship to the next stage by asking Raquel to be his wife. Verified accounts of the proposal reveal that he popped the question at one of the most romantic places on the planet Earth, under the Eiffel Tower in France. After the dust of the rather heady proposal had settled, the now-ex-couple finally said their vows to each other, in front of close friends and family members, on July 7, 2016.

Compared to the elaborate proposal, the wedding had a more traditional setting and was held at Rancho Santa Fe, California.

Their Marriage Lasted For Three Years

In January 2017, significantly under a year after their wedding, Raquel and Taylor became parents to a son whom they named Jordan Fritz.

That piece of information suggests that Raquel was about three months pregnant on her wedding day, and some cynics have also suggested that it could be the reason she and Fritz got married so quickly, given that they were both still teenagers at the time they got married.

While there has yet to be any significant basis for that, it bears thinking about it given that the marriage between Raquel and Taylor lasted only three years, even though it showed so much promise of being a long-lasting marriage at the beginning.

The exact reason for their considerably short-lived marriage and subsequent unexpected divorce in December 2019 has yet to become apparent to the media or members of the general public, but both seem to have moved on with their respective lives.

Raquel’s ex-husband Taylor is now in a relationship with a media director named Morgan Riddle after they met on the dating app Raya in 2020, while the 25-year-old Raquel appears to be focused on reviving her tennis career and looking after her son. For now, there are no men in the picture.

Raquel Pedraza Is A Professional Tennis Player

Recall that Raquel had to quit regular school to become homeschooled so she could have more time to develop her tennis-playing abilities. The good news is that she managed to achieve her goal of becoming a professional tennis player.

To achieve her dream, she had a lot of help along the way, particularly from her older brother, who also plays tennis and with whom she started playing when she was just five years old. Before momentarily giving up the game, Raquel Pedraza had professionally competed in the following competitions:

• Copa FTCh – 2016
• Argentina Cup – February 2016
• 36th Asuncion Bowl – March 2016
• USTA International Spring Championship – April 2016
• Easter Bowl Championship – April 2016

She Currently Lives In Fountain Valley, California

Following her divorce in 2019, Raquel returned home to Fountain Valley, California, where she currently lives with her son and parents. For those wondering whether she is still an active Tennis player, the answer to those questions is a resounding yes.

While she has yet to hit it big in the sport, she is doing all she can to make up for lost time and fulfill the potential she exhibited from a very young age. Financially, Raquel is not doing badly, thanks to her current net worth of over $500k.
