Diagnosis

Clinical evaluation and assessment are essential components in diagnosing bipolar disorder, a mental illness that affects mood, energy, and activity levels. The process typically involves a comprehensive evaluation by a mental health professional, such as a psychiatrist or psychologist.

• Symptoms: The clinician will ask about the patient's symptoms, including their severity, duration, and impact on daily life. They may also ask about the patient's family history of mental illness.
