Paulus' salary of $495,000 in 2011 was below the average salary for NFL quarterbacks, which was $1.9 million in 2011.

Lower Salaries: Undrafted free agents typically receive lower salaries than drafted players because they are not seen as being as talented or having as much potential. This is because they have not been evaluated as thoroughly by NFL teams and have not had the same level of success in college.

Height

In the world of professional sports, physical attributes often play a significant role in determining an athlete's salary. In the case of football, height is a particularly important factor for quarterbacks, as it can impact their ability to see over the line of scrimmage and deliver accurate passes. Greg Paulus, a former NFL quarterback, stands at 6'2", which is considered to be a good height for the position.

Optimal Height for Quarterbacks: Quarterbacks who are 6'2" or taller have an advantage in terms of being able to see over the line of scrimmage and deliver passes over defenders. This can lead to increased accuracy and a higher completion percentage.
Increased Arm Strength: Taller quarterbacks often have longer arms, which can generate more velocity on their throws. This can be beneficial for quarterbacks who need to make long or deep passes.
Improved Pocket Presence: Taller quarterbacks can see over the line of scrimmage better, which allows them to identify potential threats and avoid sacks. This can lead to a longer and more productive career.

While height is not the only factor that determines a quarterback's salary, it is certainly a factor that NFL teams consider when evaluating players. Greg Paulus' height of 6'2" is a valuable asset that likely contributed to his NFL salary.

Weight

For quarterbacks, weight is a crucial factor that influences their mobility, endurance, and overall performance on the field. Greg Paulus, a former NFL quarterback who weighed 215 lbs, exemplified the significance of weight in determining a player's salary.

Mobility and Agility: A quarterback's weight directly impacts their mobility and agility, which are essential for evading defenders and extending plays. Weighing 215 lbs allowed Paulus to maintain a balance between strength and speed, enabling him to move swiftly within the pocket and escape pressure.
Endurance and Stamina: The physical demands of a football game require quarterbacks to possess exceptional endurance and stamina. Paulus' weight of 215 lbs contributed to his ability to withstand the rigors of a full game, allowing him to maintain his focus and decision-making skills throughout the contest.
Injury Prevention: Maintaining a healthy weight is paramount for preventing injuries, which can significantly impact a player's salary and career trajectory. Paulus' weight of 215 lbs was within the optimal range for quarterbacks, reducing his risk of injuries and ensuring his availability on the field.
