In the case of Conor Clapton, the window in his apartment was not equipped with a window guard or screen. This allowed him to open the window and climb out onto the ledge, from which he fell to his death. This tragedy could have been prevented if the window had been properly secured.

Window safety is of paramount importance for all families with young children. Parents and caregivers should take all necessary precautions to prevent accidental falls from windows, including installing window guards or screens on all windows that are accessible to children, keeping furniture away from windows, and never leaving children unattended in rooms with open windows.

Young children are naturally curious and adventurous, and they often do not have the foresight to recognize and avoid dangerous situations. This is why it is so important for parents and caregivers to supervise young children at all times, especially when they are in areas that could be hazardous, such as near windows, balconies, and swimming pools.

In the case of Conor Clapton, he was left unattended in the apartment for a short period of time. During this time, he was able to climb onto the windowsill and open the window, which led to his tragic fall. This tragedy could have been prevented if he had been properly supervised.

• Lack of window safety features: Many buildings, especially older buildings, do not have window guards or screens to prevent children from falling out of windows. This can be a major hazard, as even young children can be able to open windows and climb out.
• Inadequate supervision: In some cases, buildings may have window safety features, but they are not properly maintained or supervised. This can create a situation where children are able to bypass the safety features and gain access to dangerous areas.
• Poor building design: Some buildings are simply not designed with safety in mind. This can include features such as balconies with low railings, windows that are too large or easy to open, and roofs that are not properly secured.
• Lack of enforcement: In some cases, building codes may require certain safety features, but these codes are not always enforced. This can lead to buildings being constructed without the necessary safety features, putting children at risk.

The lack of proper building design is a serious problem that can have tragic consequences. Parents and caregivers should be aware of the risks of falls from windows and other high places, and they should take all necessary precautions to prevent these accidents from happening.
