Mike Snyder, a professional mechanic from Albuquerque, was 43 years old. Mike also completed high school in 1976 and enrolled in an automotive college shortly after.

Everyone in Snyder’s circle admired and loved his kindness and generosity. Mike enjoyed utilizing his jet boat and skiing. Additionally, he resided with his wife and son up until January 11, 2002, when he went missing.

Snyder’s unusual disappearance soon made headlines, and Mike had already been given a multiple sclerosis diagnosis before he went missing.

Missing Person Mike Snyder Found Dead

Prior to February 2010, Mike Snyder’s disappearance was unsolved for approximately eight years.

Everyone was fascinated by the story of the case, and eight years later, in February 2010, new information brought the detectives back to the Snyder house, which is now owned by someone else.

In the backyard of the home, they discovered Mike’s remains covered by a tarp. The remains underwent an autopsy, which revealed that Mike had been shot to death.

Mike’s wife Ellen claimed that she alerted the family of his disappearance and made numerous attempts to get in touch with him but that she received no response.

The true crime documentary “American Monster: Anything for You” on Investigation Discovery also delves into the case and discusses how the tip led to the discovery of Mike’s remains and, ultimately, the arrest of Ellen Snyder.

Everyone was misled into thinking Mike had escaped and was still alive by Ellen, who was just the case’s primary suspect. Ellen made an effort to hide the crime from everybody.

Is Mike Snyder’s case a suicide or murder?

In spite of the fact that Mike Snyder’s case involves murder, his wife Ellen kept everyone under the impression that he was still alive up until a tip brought police back to the Snyders’ house, where Mike’s body was buried.

Likewise, a body had been shot, according to an autopsy report. Mike’s wife Ellen was detained for his death on February 5, 2010. A son of the couple later revealed what he knew about the incident.

Ellen remembered what happened that evening in her statement, stating, “I start shooting… I fired at a wall. I blasted the TV. I fired toward the ground.

The family’s 17-year-old son attempted to call the police, but Ellen dissuaded him and left Mike’s body, which was covered with a comforter, in the hallway. In her backyard, Ellen had a hole dug up by a backhoe, and she made her son Michael assist her in burying the body.

In addition, Ellen admitted to tax fraud, tampering with evidence in relation to Michael’s death, and voluntary manslaughter with a firearm enhancement.

Ellen Snyder: Where Is She Now?

The highest punishment Ellen Synder might have received in the case of Mike Synder was 11 years in prison.

Ellen qualified for parole in 2018. After being freed, Ellen reportedly went back to North Albuquerque Acres where she led a quiet life and reintegrated into society.

More information about Ellen’s current situation is still unclear because she has always maintained a high level of seclusion, and no media outlet has reported on details of her current way of life.
