What Race is John B?

John B is a fictional character in the Netflix series Outer Banks. His race is never explicitly stated in the show, but it is widely assumed that he is white. There are several reasons for this assumption, including the following:

• He is played by a white actor, Chase Stokes.
• He lives in a predominantly white community in North Carolina.
• His mannerisms and speech patterns are consistent with those of a white person.

However, there is no definitive evidence to support the assumption that John B is white. It is possible that he is of mixed race or that he identifies as a different race altogether. Ultimately, his race is up to the viewer to decide.

He is played by a white actor, Chase Stokes.

The fact that John B is played by a white actor, Chase Stokes, is one of the main reasons why people assume that John B is white. This is because, in the entertainment industry, it is common for actors to play characters of their own race. There are several reasons for this, including the following:

• Audience expectations: Audiences are more likely to identify with and connect with characters who are played by actors of their own race. This is because they can see themselves in the character and relate to their experiences.
• Historical precedent: In the past, it was common for white actors to play non-white characters. This was due to a number of factors, including racism and the lack of opportunities for non-white actors. However, in recent years, there has been a growing movement towards more diverse casting practices.
• Artistic license: Directors and casting directors sometimes choose to cast actors of a different race than the character they are playing in order to create a specific effect. For example, they may cast a white actor to play a non-white character in order to challenge stereotypes or to explore the themes of race and identity.

In the case of John B, it is possible that the casting directors chose to cast Chase Stokes because they felt that he was the best actor for the role, regardless of his race. However, it is also possible that they cast him because they wanted to create a specific effect, such as challenging stereotypes about white people or exploring the themes of race and identity.

He lives in a predominantly white community in North Carolina.

The fact that John B lives in a predominantly white community in North Carolina is another reason why people assume that he is white. This is because the racial makeup of a community can have a significant impact on the racial identity of its residents. There are several reasons for this, including the following:

• Socialization: Children who grow up in predominantly white communities are more likely to be socialized into white culture. This means that they are more likely to adopt white values, beliefs, and behaviors. They are also more likely to interact with white people and to form relationships with white people.
• Peer pressure: Children and adolescents who grow up in predominantly white communities may feel pressure to conform to white norms. This can lead them to deny their own racial identity or to adopt a white racial identity.
• Institutional racism: Predominantly white communities often have institutions that are designed to benefit white people. This can make it difficult for non-white people to live and thrive in these communities.

In the case of John B, it is possible that he has been socialized into white culture and that he feels pressure to conform to white norms. This could lead him to identify as white, even if he is not biologically white.

His mannerisms and speech patterns are consistent with those of a white person.

The way that John B speaks and moves can provide clues about his racial identity. White people in the United States have a distinct set of mannerisms and speech patterns that are often learned from a young age. These mannerisms and speech patterns can include the following:

• Body language: White people in the United States tend to have a more relaxed and open body language than people of other races. They are more likely to make eye contact, smile, and use gestures when they speak.
• Vocal patterns: White people in the United States tend to speak in a more monotone voice than people of other races. They are also more likely to use Standard American English and to avoid using slang or colloquialisms.
• Conversational style: White people in the United States tend to be more direct and assertive in their conversations than people of other races. They are more likely to speak up for themselves and to express their opinions.

Of course, there is no single way that all white people speak and move. However, the mannerisms and speech patterns described above are common among white people in the United States. If John B exhibits these mannerisms and speech patterns, it is more likely that he is white.
