Jeffrey Dahmer was one of the most notorious serial killers in American history, who confessed to murdering 17 young men and boys between 1978 and 1991.

His crimes involved rape, dismemberment, necrophilia, and cannibalism.

But how tall was Jeffrey Dahmer, and did his height play a role in his ability to lure and overpower his victims?

Here is everything you need to know about the physical stature of the Milwaukee Cannibal.

How Tall and Big Was Jeffrey Dahmer?

Jeffrey Dahmer stood at 6 feet or 185 cm tall.

He weighed about 180 pounds or 82 kg.

In his police and prison mug shots, he appears to be around the 6-foot mark, but his thick blond hair may have made him look slightly taller.

He was not the tallest serial killer ever, as Ed Kemper towered at an intimidating 6 feet 10 inches or 208 cm.

However, Dahmer was taller than average for an American male, and he may have used his height to intimidate or subdue some of his victims.

Is Jeffrey Dahmer’s IQ High?

Jeffrey Dahmer was not only tall but also very intelligent.

According to the IQ Test, Dahmer had an IQ of 145, which is in the 98th percentile and is considered as gifted.

His IQ was allegedly up there with other notorious serial killers like Ted Bundy, Andrew Cunanan, and Edmund Kemper.

However, IQ tests may not be the most accurate measure of overall intelligence, and many scientists have disputed their validity for decades.

Dahmer’s intelligence did not help him achieve academic success or social stability.

He struggled with alcoholism, mental illness, and sexual deviance from an early age.

He also failed to evade arrest for long, as he left behind many clues and evidence of his crimes.

Did Jeffrey Dahmer Have Surgery at Age 4?

Jeffrey Dahmer was born on May 21, 1960, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Lionel and Joyce Dahmer.

He was described as an energetic and happy child until the age of 4 when he had to have surgery to correct a double hernia.

A hernia is a condition where an organ or tissue protrudes through a weak spot in the abdominal wall.

The surgery involved making an incision in the groin area and pushing the organ or tissue back into place.

The surgery was successful, but it may have had a lasting impact on Dahmer’s personality and sexuality.

Some sources claim that Dahmer became more withdrawn, shy, and insecure after the surgery.

He also developed an interest in animal carcasses and bones, which he collected and dissolved with chemicals provided by his father, who was a chemist.

Dahmer later said that he was curious about how animals “fitted together”.

Some psychologists have speculated that Dahmer’s surgery may have triggered a fear of abandonment or castration, which influenced his later obsession with keeping his victims’ body parts as trophies.

How Many Boys Did Jeffrey Dahmer Eat?

Jeffrey Dahmer was not only a serial killer, but also a cannibal.

He admitted to eating parts of some of his victims, such as their hearts, livers, biceps, or thighs.

He said that he did this to feel closer to them or to make them a part of him.

Jeffrey also said that he wanted to keep them with him forever and prevent them from leaving him.

It is not clear how many of his victims he ate, but some estimates suggest that he consumed parts of at least six of them. These include:

• Steven Tuomi (25), was killed on November 20, 1987
• Anthony Sears (24), was killed on March 25, 1989
• Raymond Smith (32), was killed on May 20, 1990
• Ernest Miller (22), was killed on September 2, 1990
• David Thomas (23), was killed on September 24, 1990
• Curtis Straughter (18), was killed on February 18, 1991

Dahmer kept some of their skulls and genitals as mementos in his apartment.

He also stored some of their flesh in his freezer or refrigerator for later consumption.

Conclusion

Jeffrey Dahmer was a tall and intelligent man who committed horrific crimes against young men and boys.

He killed them, dismembered them, raped them, ate them, and preserved their remains.

He was arrested in July 1991 after one of his intended victims escaped and alerted the police.

Jeffrey was sentenced to life imprisonment for 16 counts of murder in Wisconsin and Ohio.

He was killed by a fellow inmate in November 1994 at the age of 34.

His story has inspired many books, films, documentaries, and podcasts that explore his life and mind.
