Kim Potter’s family consists of her husband and two sons. She shared about them in a recent court hearing.

She was charged with first and second-degree murder. Earlier this year, she shot a Black motorist named Daunte Wright in a traffic stop-turned-arrest in the Minneapolis suburb.

On Monday, in the court trial room, she claimed that she mistook her firearm as Taser and shot him. She wept and apologized for what she had done.

However, the prosecutor argued that accidents can still be crimes in the closing statement, mentioned USA Today. This incident has also raised another issue where people think police mistreat people of color.
