The UAE has been forever changed by the extraordinary accomplishments and significant contributions of British entrepreneur, pilot, explorer, and space tourist Hamish Harding. Harding’s business savvy and exceptional leadership skills are obvious as the founder of Action Group and chairman of Action Aviation, a prestigious international aircraft brokerage company based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Harding’s contribution to the One More Orbit flight mission, which took place from July 9 to July 11, 2019, is among his notable accomplishments. He played a key role in breaking the previous world record for the quickest aircraft circumnavigation of the Earth over both poles while serving as the mission director and crew pilot. This remarkable achievement enhanced Harding’s standing as a proficient aviator and fearless explorer.

Tragically, Harding vanished on June 18, 2023, while traveling by submersible to the North Atlantic to see the Titanic’s wreckage. He had, however, made important contributions to the fields of exploration and aviation before this unfortunate incident. Using a Gulfstream G550 and successfully landing on Wolfs Fang Runway, Harding and the Antarctic VIP travel company White Desert launched the first regular business jet service to the Antarctic in 2017. In addition, he participated in a number of expeditions to the South Pole, one of which was notable because it was led by Buzz Aldrin, the oldest person to reach the pole at the age of 86.

As part of his ongoing quest to break barriers and establish records, Harding was instrumental in the One More Orbit mission, which in July 2019 celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. In order to break previous records, he served as the mission director and oversaw a group of pilots as they flew a Gulfstream G650ER around the globe via the North and South Poles. Additionally, in March 2021, Harding and Victor Vescovo set out in a two-man submarine on an amazing journey to the Challenger Deep, the deepest point in the Mariana Trench, setting new records for the greatest distance traveled and the longest amount of time spent at full ocean depth.
