Beyoncé, undoubtedly one of the most renowned and influential singers of our era, shares her family’s spotlight in the entertainment industry.

Alongside her, her sister Solange has also carved out a successful career as a singer and songwriter, while her step-sister, Bianca Lawson, has made her mark as an actress.

Yet, it may come as a surprise that Beyoncé has two half-siblings stemming from her father’s extramarital relationships.

In this piece, we delve into the story of Beyoncé’s half-brother and half-sister, exploring their connections to the superstar.

How Many Biological Siblings Does Beyoncé Have?

Beyoncé’s sole biological sibling is her younger sister, Solange Knowles.

Born on June 24, 1986, in Houston, Texas, Solange is the offspring of Mathew Knowles and Tina Knowles-Lawson.

Taking inspiration from her sister, Solange embarked on her own journey in the world of singing and dancing at a tender age.

She began as a backup dancer for Destiny’s Child, the girl group that catapulted Beyoncé to stardom, before venturing into her own solo career.

Solange boasts an impressive discography with four studio albums to her name, including “A Seat at the Table” (2016) and “When I Get Home” (2019), both of which garnered critical acclaim and enjoyed commercial success.

Notably, Solange has collaborated closely with Beyoncé, co-writing songs such as “Get Me Bodied” and “Upgrade U.”

During their relationship, TaQoya asserted that Mathew treated her as the “love of his life,” but he reportedly ended their relationship upon discovering her pregnancy.

TaQoya also expressed her desire for Koi to establish a connection with her half-siblings.

However, Mathew has not publicly acknowledged Koi or Nixon, his other child born out of wedlock.

Koi is pursuing a career in acting and modeling, making appearances in various commercials and magazines.

Certainly, Beyoncé does indeed have a half-brother named Nixon Alexander Knowles, who was born in February 2010 to Mathew Knowles and Alexsandra Wright.

Alexsandra is a former actress who crossed paths with Mathew in Seattle while collaborating on a project related to Beyoncé in 2007.

Their romantic relationship spanned two years, even though Mathew was still married to Tina at the time.

In October 2009, Alexsandra initiated a paternity lawsuit against Mathew.

A month later, Tina filed for divorce from Mathew.

Subsequent DNA testing confirmed Mathew as Nixon’s father, and he was subsequently obligated to provide child support.

However, Alexsandra claimed that Mathew ceased making payments after he lost his job as Beyoncé’s manager in 2011.

Alexsandra and Nixon encountered financial challenges and, at one point, resided in a trailer park.

Alexsandra has revealed that Nixon frequently wonders why Beyoncé does not express affection towards him or show interest in meeting him.

She expressed her hope that someday Beyoncé will reach out to her half-brother and sister.

Beyoncé crossed paths with Jay Z at the tender age of 18 back in 1999.

Their serendipitous encounter took place courtesy of their mutual friend, Timbaland, during an MTV Spring Break event held in Cancun, Mexico.

Their romance remained shrouded in secrecy for several years, with the public catching its first glimpse of them together on the cover of Vanity Fair’s Music Issue in 2001.

In a clandestine ceremony that took place on April 4, 2008, in New York City, Beyoncé and Jay Z exchanged their vows, officially sealing their love.
